Because our studies and conversations were so solidly supported by Gordon's deep knowledge of Scripture, I remember them well to this day. I treasure my memories of Gordon and his family.

We will never stop telling "Fr. Gordon" stories in our family. His ministries, his music, his sense of humor, and especially his love for his boys remain a blessing.

As the world swirls around with confusion and higher demands upon our limited strength, it is comforting to remember Gordon's laser light upon the daily power of the Scripture, of our Lord's forgiveness and compassion, and his joy in music and humor. I pray Robert and Michael and their families know their father is not only remembered but that these memories are truly treasured today.

As always, when uncertain times bring hard questions about where to direct energy and hope, I always remember Gordon's strong conviction that living Scripture in our daily lives requires serving the most vulnerable, especially our children. Thank God that he shared that dedication with us at Holy Trinity. Continue to rest in power and joy, Gordon.

Sometimes it seems forever since three years have gone by and other times it seems just a day. I'll always remember Gordon's joy in learning and delight in teaching, sparked by his intimate connection to our Lord. Rest in wisdom and peace, dear friend., and God bring comfort to your family. I'll still be saying your name, for your life remains a blessing.

In this trying time, Gordon would have been in the lead when it comes to calming the community, working to make sure the most vulnerable in our community. Let's all be like Gordon was every day on this earth. He was such a beacon of hope and a messenger of Christ. Two years now, and boy we could use your words right now.

Just last Sunday, as we talked of the needs of those who live in our downtown neighborhood around Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, the members of our Book Group spoke of Gordon and his powerful commitment to the most vulnerable, our brothers and sisters Jesus told us to serve. He will always be remembered with affection and respect.

The year that has gone by has in no way diminished my memories of Gordon and his insatiable curiosity about this amazing world God has given us to live in and learn to serve others. He will always be a loving example to me of how to honor our neighbors and follow a compassionate path.

A year has gone by and I still can't believe it. The day I got the news is ingrained in my mind. Bless all of Gordon's Family and all those who were close for one of the best advocates for children and the homeless and all those with less....

I just learned of and am saddened by Gordon's death. We worked together at BSA camps Ken-Etiwa-Pec and Crossett Lake. He was a wonderful, knowledgeable person to work with. I have let the camps' FaceBook pages know.

My deepest condolences for the loss of Gordon. He and I were very close friends on Boy Scout camp staff, esp. at Crosset Lake Scout Reservation, NY. I, like many other scouts and staff, will never forget his incredible energy, wit and caring. He will be remembered by the many he touched.

David and Michael: I met your Dad, when he worked with the ELC. I always loved his wit and wisdom. When I approached him about sharing a hotel room when we had our ELC CEO meetings, so we could save our coalitions money, he agreed. Oh what great theological conversations we had late into the night. I last saw in July, as I had just recovered from a heart transplant. I have been trying to reach him, learned tonight that he is with Jesus. He was a great friend. I'll miss him. All my best to the two of you, he spoke very highly of you both and was very proud of you. Take comfort in God's peace.

David and Michael, my heart goes out to you and I grieve with you for the loss of your father. He was a wonderful, motivating, faith strengthening presence in the live of Holy Trinity and for me my husband, Max. The Parish still feels his presence. I pray that God will continue to give you strength and courage to become best of both your parents who were powerful servants of God.

David and Michael, we are so sad to hear this news. God place his hand of comfort and peace in your hearts. Your dad greatly influenced our family's life. His leadership in the fight for justice and mercy for the 'least of these' made Holy Trinity come alive in Christ again. The Spirit was alive in his teachings and in his Biblical scholarship. We were discipled well by your father. I will forever remember his tender rendition of Mary's Little Boy Child on Christmas Eve singing Jesus' love to the congregation with his guitar. With love,

I met Gordon on the golf course, he was such a good person to talk to as we walked the course. The conversation could go to any subject. He had great insights into many different topics. I appreciated getting to know him. I know the family will miss him greatly and i hope you can hear how much of an impression he had on his friends. Peace

I still can't find the words to express the profound effect he had on so many. I really didn't realize the wonderful blessing knowing Gordon was in my life at first. As time went on especially after some rough times in my life, and is his. He was a good boss but it is our friendship that I will cherish the most. We had the best religious, political and social justice discussions. His counsel was always spot on. My grandsons really liked visiting, my youngest daughter loved to discuss religious history with him, and husband love to talk food! Blessings to all your family who you loved so deeply.

Gordon enabled me to begin a Parish Nursing Program at St Peters Essex Fells. It was the most glorious thing I've done in my lifetime. I was able to utilize my love of nursing and find a way to give back. He allowed that to begin at St Peters. That Ministry begun 20 years ago flourished into many health and healing ministries that still continue today. That wouldn't have happened without Gordon's encouragement! Thank you Gordon! Among many other things, I will be forever grateful to Gordon for implanting in me a deep and enduring love of scripture. His weekly bible study was a continual source of deep learning, inspiration, faith building, community bonding, and outrageous hilarity. He will be greatly missed.

I remember Reverend Gordon from Eagles Nest Camp in the 1990s' he was so charismatic, kind, and fun, playing his guitar and inspiring us counselors to open our hearts to each other and the children we would work with. After those summers with him I was a believer. He touched many young people's lives in NJ and those summers. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace

So sorry that Gordon Tremaine has died. May he rest in peace forever with the God he loved and served so well. He gave witness to the Gospel mandate to love and care for all people. He did this with joy and taught us to do the same. He will be missed.

Gordon invited us to share his wit, joy, and eternal curiosity as he helped us explore Scripture and Faith. He was such a treasured teacher. Missing him, but knowing he is strumming his guitar and smiling that
1,000 watt smile. Blessings on the whole family.

I had the privilege of working with Gordon for almost 7 years at the ELC. He was a great man and will be missed by many. His compassion for children was only surpassed by his love and pride of his boys, David & Michael. He spoke of them often, always with a smile on his face. May God provide comfort as only He can during this difficult time.
