Grant Homer

The family of Grant Homer is sad to announce that Grant passed away on April 24 at R.V.H. His son Jeff sat with him in his final days. Grant felt his love and passed peacefully.
Grant was the proud and loving father of Jeffrey (wife Karinda) and delighted grandfather to Isla Homer. Jeff, Karinda and Isla brought much joy to Grant's life. Grant was devastated by the loss of his beloved son Jonathan in 2021 and mourned his loss every day.
Above all else, Grant valued and cherished his family. His sister Gail Derdall (Brian) was his confidant and medical advocate. His niece Kay Laidlaw (James) and nephew Conal Derdall (Kim) always knew Uncle Grant was just a phone call away.
Grant lived his life with honesty and integrity. He was a kind and gentle man with a generous heart. He was a devoted grandfather, father, brother, uncle, cousin and a true friend to many. We will all miss his kind and wise guidance, his epic Boxing Day dinners and his superior cheesecake! He will be missed so much but we take comfort in knowing that Grant will be taking care of his dear Jonathan and be reunited with his Mom and Dad (Doris and Doug Homer) who all passed before him. Arrangements are entrusted to Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St. Barrie. Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Foundation would be gratefully appreciated by Grant's family.
