Mr. Gregorio Betancourt, 77, of Mullins, entered a better world on the evening of Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at the home of his son, surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness.
Mr. Betancourt was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, on December 12, 1944, a son of the late Santos and Monserrate Matos Betancourt. Mr. Betancourt grew up in Puerto Rico and lived in the Northeast for a time until he moved to South Carolina to be closer to his family. He was a retired factory worker. While here in Mullins, Mr. Betancourt found Mullins First Baptist Church a perfect fit for his life and place to worship, attending every chance he had and enjoyed the messages delivered by Pastor Robbie. Mr. Betancourt loved his family and loved his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
Surviving Mr. Betancourt are his loving sons: Gregory Betancourt of Bryson City, North Carolina and Thomas Betancourt and his wife, Nicole of Mullins; his beloved grandchildren: Bailynn Betancourt, Brittany Viviani, William Betancourt, Thomas Betancourt, Jr., Brooklyn Betancourt, Gregory Betancourt, Jr. and Seth Betancourt; his sister, Isabel White and her husband, Jerry of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A private service for Mr. Betancourt will be held at a later date.
A guestbook is available on our website at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.

To my beloved husband, so happy to had read you were active in church. I know you are much happier as you are with our precious father in heaven. Even though we were not together you were always in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.
