Gregory Alan Wilkes

Gregory Wilkes, 40, loving husband, father, son and friend of Lakeland, Florida formerly of Waterbury/Southington, CT, passed away on Saturday October 7, 2023 at home surrounded by family after a short battle of cancer. He had 9 months from the time he found out to the time he left this earth and he fought until the end. He is survived by his wife, Kara (Beharry), his 4 children Dakota, Miley, Jordan and Dominic, his parents John and Teresa (Shrack) Wilkes and his sister Amanda Wilkes. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law Lori Luponio and Robert Mabe, as well as 2 brother-in-laws, 4 sister-in-laws and many neices and a nephew that loved Uncle Greg/Greggo a lot.

Born in Danbury, CT, he was well known and liked by those who met him and he always went out of his way to help those in need. His family was his life and he was our rock. The strong one who could handle anything that came our way. He was also referred to as Mr. Mom as he was the the one who mainly did doctors visits, grocery shopped and cooked. He loved the NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys, watching movies and going new places. He had hopes of going on a cruise, one thing we never got to accomplish. He did, however, manage to accomplish so many great things as a father. From potty training all of the children, teaching them to dance like no one was watching, teaching Dakota amazing work ethics and how to drive and to never stop being a big kid. Our girls love to cook and our boys love of sports are each a piece of him that will live on and I thank him for that. A memorial service was held Saturday, 10/21/23 at Hollis Gardens where he was married.
