GWEN ELLEN GLANVILLE

May 25, 1952 November 24, 2016

Gwen Ellen Sessions Glanville was born into this world on May 25, 1952 to George and Helen Sessions. Gwen was one of three children, along with Bruce and Gayle. They grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and she eventually left home to start her life of adulthood. Gwen met Jim and eventually married him in 1974. They lived in Carbondale, Illinois for a few years with many of their great friends. After a visit to Southern Arizona, they decided to pack up and head west in 1978. Gwen and Jim both enjoyed the no-snow winters and abundance of sunshine, especially Gwen, for she will always be a ray of sunshine to all whom knew her.

Southern Arizona was the start of a new chapter for Gwen and Jim. She worked various jobs in Nogales, Arizona, and in 1981 gave birth to Jill Denise Glanville. Shortly after, Brian James Glanville was born in 1983 to rain on Jill's parade and help absorb the wealth of love and family. In 1987, Jill and Brian's attention would be absorbed by baby Eric Patrick. Gwen was an incredible mother to her children and always was willing to volunteer for any of their many extracurricular activities, from coaching a soccer team to helping facilitate the community summer programs.

Gwen was surrounded by incredible friends that helped her and Jim juggle hectic schedules, as Jim and Gwen were always willing to help their friends out too, this made for an incredible environment to raise their kids in.

Gwen built many great friendships through the many activities she enjoyed from diligent crafting, to play groups, shopping and socializing when she had the time. With a large group of friends that continually kept in touch with her from past jobs to her most recent at Hallmark, she got to see so many of her great friends on a regular basis and be her vibrant social butterfly self. Know that her love for every single one of you reading this is everlasting.

Gwen is survived by her husband Jim; children Jill & Jon, Brian, Eric; and granddaughter, Hannah Belle.

In these difficult moments life brings, often we cannot find the words to express our immense gratitude and appreciation of every person who knew Gwen. On behalf of the Glanville Family, remember how much each and every one of you meant to her. She is watching over all of us, casting rays of sunshine, hope, love and great joy, forever and always.

Gwen's service will be held this Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at 1pm at Desert Hills Lutheran Church, 2150 S. Camino del Sol

Green Valley, AZ

Jim, There are not any words to explain how I feel about Jill's death. The 3 of us have been friends for years even tho we did not see each other very much. My heart goes out to you and your family. I will keep in touch and hope to see you soon. God give you strength to get through this as he did the past 10 years. My deepest sympathy and love.

I pray that the many happy memories of Gwen's life with all of us that knew her will, with time, overcome the sadness and pain that have accompanied all. Gwen did a lot in the community, but I particularly remember her dedication to her students in preschool. She worked tirelessly, the children loved her, and was a good friend to all young and old. I will always remember our happy times in our ASL class and our rides together. I have so many happy memories of my sweet friend. Please be assured of my prayers. God bless her and all of you at this time of sorrow. May she rest in peace. Love you Gwen
