Gwendolyn O'CONNELL Obituary
Passed away at home on March 1, 2016 at the age of 76 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Loving mother of Judy Atkinson (Ted Stratas) and Janice Parish (Frank Cook). Devoted grandmother of Bryan Hutchison (Sarah), Matthew Carson, Shawn Cook, Gregory Carson (Jessica White), Christopher Parish (Chrissy Welch), Ashleigh Parish (Brad Knox) and Shannon McKechnie. Great- grandmother of Hope Hutchison and Carter Hutchison. Sister of Michael O'Connell (Heather), Dixie-Starr O'Connell, Theresa Farrell (Don), Ross Brewer (Francine), Brenda Boylan (Chris), the late Claudette Monk (Dan). Gwendolyn will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Newcastle Community Hall, 20 King Ave W, Newcastle, on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. with a gathering time starting at 1 p.m. Following the Celebration of Life, a reception will take place, also at the community hall. Donations may be made to the Hospital For Sick Children or to the Odette Cancer Centre. Condolences for the family may be made online at www.newcastlefuneralhome.com.
