H. Irwin Levy enjoyed a long life, and had an amazing success story which highlights what is so great about the opportunities in the USA. After I was evicted from my North Dade home in 1998 due to an unexpected divorce, I rented a condo in Century Village in Pembroke Pines from my public accounting client, Mr. Simon Ash as it was close to my job, and was a secure gated community with very friendly neighbors. After four years of renting, I purchased the condo , and after retiring in 2010, I was able to attend the daytime club meetings and enjoy many activities that Century Village had to offer. Thank you Mr. Levy for your foresight to build your Century Village empire, and for your many charitable activities you have sponsored.

He was a dear and cherished friend to my family- a trusted advisor- and an all around decent man. I loved him personally- and I am sorry to hear that he is gone from us. Rest well, Irwin. I will never forget you.

I was only a kid when I started working in the multi-million dollar clubhouse at Century Village Deerfield Beach and I was in total awe with what the village had to offer. My job was to give the "vana white" tours and, most importantly to make sure everyone - residents and visitors - were happy. I remember when Mr Levy took over Wynmore and I was asked to greet and give tours in one of their 2b/2ba models. I'll never forget when this manager walked into my model and asked me if people were "liking" the unit. I stated " they would love it IF it had a pass-thru." He looked at me kind of angrily and replied "that's never gonna happen." and briskly walked out. About 10 min later, in walked Mr. Leavy and he asked me if everything was okay with the model I was in. I shared that they love it BUT, would love it even more if it had a pass-thru. Without hessitation Mr Levy's reply was "consider it done. Tell them they can have a pass-thru." I was elated. About a half hour or hour later, I remember my model door opening and, the previous (angry guy) saying to one of his fellow coworkers "People are going crazy over this model, I don't understand it!" Funny, now I'm a happy resident of CVE, Deerfield Beach and I have Mr. Leavy to thank.
