PRINCETON — Harless “Flap” Blankenship, 53, of 310 Low Gap Road, Princeton, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 in Hinton as the result of a motorcycle accident. Born Sept. 28, 1953 at Swords Creek, Va., he was the son of Cecil and Agnes Stoots Blankenship of Beechwood.Mr. Blankenship worked at ICG Coal Company of Beckley and was a member of the U.M.W.A. In his spare time, he loved to ride his Harley. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea. He was a very respectful and honest man. He was a loving, devoted husband, son, dad and granddad. He is now an angel living in the many homes of the Lord watching down and protecting those he left behind. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Rhonda Fortner Blankenship of the home; one daughter, Angel D. Phillips and her husband Robert of Warsaw, Va.; one son, Steven W. Blankenship of Statesville, N.C.; two brothers, Thomas Lee Blankenship of Nyssa, Ore. and Robert Lynn Blankenship of Crab Orchard; six sisters, Audrey Marie James of Kansas City, Mo., Rosa Turner of Oak Hill, Nancy Jane Bolen of North Carolina and Kathy Ann Blankenship, Zone Gail Manley and Mary Lou Blankenship all of Beechwood; four grandchildren, Jordan Blankenship, Bethany Blankenship, Kyra Inglett and Harley Phillips; and his special little buddy, Phoenix Parker.Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Carl R. Underwood officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
