Harold Earl Chapman

CHAPMAN , Harold Earl March 14, 1925 - April 2, 2009 Harold Earl Chapman, beloved husband of Maud, father of Donna MacIntyre (Roger), Cathy Bowen and Bev Sardinha (Dave), and brother of Robert "Bob" passed away after sixty-two years of marriage at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on April 2, 2009 after a five year battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Earl and Marjorie, many aunts and uncles, his beloved son-in-law Malcolm, and his sister-in-law Hilda. Harold was born in Calgary on March 14, 1925. He is survived by five grandchildren, Philip, Elizabeth and Douglas Bowen, and Paul and Caitlin Sardinha. Harold was a forty year member of both St. Paul's and Parkdale United Churches, a member of the Parkdale Community Association and a member of the Calgary Curling Club. Special and sincere thanks to Dr. McWhirter, Dr. Lategan and Dr. Baverstock and the staff in their offices, who did their very best to ensure Harold had the best quality of life possible. The family also wish to thank Harold's care-workers Mel, Joanne, Diane, Michelle, Irene and Bev and many others too numerous to name. His five years at the Seniors Residence at the Colonel Belcher were most enjoyable. A private family Graveside Service to celebrate Harold's life will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (17 Avenue S.W. and Lower Springbank Road, Calgary) on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Rob Taylor officiating.
