HAROLD CITRIN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 26, 2021.
CITRIN--Harold Lee (Hal), passed away peacefully on February 24 at age 91. Beloved husband of Glenna (Green); cherished father of Jeffrey and Rona Citrin, James Citrin, and Nancy and Kenneth Lane; adored grandfather of Alexandra and Chris Safadi, Andrew and Amanda Citrin, Teddy Citrin and Natalia Gonzalez, Charlie, Oliver and Lily Citrin, and Ryan, Harrison and Sylvie Lane; loving great-grandfather to Rei Harper Safadi; beloved brother to Renee Weil, Barbara Goldstein, the late Juliet Kalikow, the late Gertrude Blum, and Jerry Green; and esteemed uncle to innumerable nieces and nephews. Hal served honorably in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War, and enjoyed a distinguished career at AG Becker, Bear Stearns, and JP Morgan. Family and friends will remember Hal's kind and warm demeanor, keen intellect, dry and sophisticated wit, and lifelong athleticism. He led a vibrant and robust life, and we will miss him deeply. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Harold's memory to the American Alzheimer's Association at 322 8th Avenue, NewYork, NY 10001.

On behalf of wife, Cynthia, and me, I offer deep condolences to the Citrin family for the loss of Hal. Years have passed since I last saw him, but my memories are very strong and vivid. Glenna and Hal welcomed me into their home in September, 1977 for Rosh Hashanah with Jimmy, and made me feel immediately like family. Hal appeared tough as nails behind a soft spoken demeanor and quite the presence to measure up to. I knew Jimmy and Jeffrey had their work cut out. (Nancy might have received a small pass). All our best.
