SPARKS -Harold passed away peacefully October 24, 2008 at the Wheatbelt Centennial Lodge. He was born July 6, 1924 in Saskatoon, SK. He was the youngest of four boys born to Fred and Alice Sparks. They moved from the Glamis area to Zealandia in 1932. Harold started his schooling in Glamis and later in Zealandia. After his discharge from the R.C.A.F. in 1945, Harold worked at McKee Cartage in Saskatoon. This is where he met Shirley Sykes and they were married in 1947. Harold and Shirley moved to Zealandia where Harold worked as a grain buyer. He bought the farm near Zealandia where he farmed until he retired. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, coaching kids hockey and playing hockey himself with the Milden Mintos. Harold and Shirley also enjoyed their warm retreats down south where they met many new friends. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley; sons, Larry (Terry), Terry (Glenna), Kevin (Melanie), Dwayne (Verna) and eight grandchildren, Shannon (Christopher), Joel, Cody, Jamie, Madison, Michael, Kendall, and Austin and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents; brothers, Albert and Clifford Corfield and Norman Sparks predeceased Harold. A Memorial Service will be held at the Zealandia Elks Hall Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Memorial Donations in honor of Harold may be made to the Rosetown and District Health Foundation Building Fund, Box 653, Rosetown, SK. S0L 2V0. Clements Rosetown Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
