Harry L. Metzger, 85, of Hackettstown, died Friday, February 10, 2006, in Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Born: April 29, 1920 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he was a son of the late William and Louise Brown Metzger. Personal: He was married to the former Mary Ann Helfrich. Harry previously resided in Bloomfield and in Hackettstown for the past 46 years. He retired in 1988 after 29 years as a supervisor and maintenance inspector for M& M Mars, now Masterfoods in Hackettstown. Memberships: He was a member of Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown. He was a third degree member of the Joyce Kilmer Council Knights of Columbus Council 2483 in Hackettstown for 31 years. Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin, of Pinckney, Mich., and David, of Hillsborough, N.J.; two sisters, Elizabeth John, of Warminster, Pa., and Dolores Reddin, of Wanaque, N.J.; three grandchildren, Kevin, Jenna, and Christina. Services: A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church, with Father David Pekola officiating. Interment will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, N.J. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Scala Funeral Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
