Harvey BROOKS Obituary
July 19, 1931 – July 31, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey after a valiant battle with cancer. Harvey will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Lorna; his children, Glen, Terry (John), Nancy (Colin), Jennifer (Don), and Randy (Angela); his 12 grandchildren; his 2 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. Harvey taught heavy duty mechanics in Nanaimo, was a counsellor at Nanaimo and Langara College, and a rehabilitation counsellor at Workman's Compensation Board. Harvey was always a man who could be relied on; growing up in a residential school, he later took into his home 57 First Nations students over a span of 15 years. He loved sports, coaching soccer and football, music, politics, and history, and spent his last years researching his grandfather's canoe in the New York Museum of Natural History. The family would also like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Laurel Place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Beecher Place, 12160 Beecher Street, in Crescent Beach, South Surrey on August 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

Dearest Lorna and Family,
For the past fifteen years I have had the pleasure of getting to know Harvey through his visits to the credit union. He always took the time to say hi and ask how I was doing. He was always so kind and genuine, that I looked forward to seeing him.
