Harvey Groth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 12, 2025.
Harvey Sylvester Groth passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 99. Born on October 14, 1925, in Spencer, Wisconsin, Harvey lived a long and full life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a passion for hands-on pursuits.

Harvey proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard. His time in the military was a defining chapter of his early life and reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment.

After his service, Harvey built a life rooted in hard work and personal fulfillment. He was known for his love of do-it-yourself projects and could often be found working with his hands-fixing, building, or improving something around him. His resourcefulness and determination were hallmarks of his character.

One of Harvey's greatest joys was bowling. He bowled in leagues for an extraordinary 70 consecutive years-a testament to both his passion for the sport and his enduring spirit. Whether competing or simply enjoying time with fellow bowlers, Harvey found camaraderie and joy on the lanes.

Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved wife Virginia in 2017. Together they raised a family that brought them great pride. He is survived by his children: Colleen, Kevin, Maureen, Mark, and Michael (Connie). His legacy continues through six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.
