Hazel Houck Obituary

Hazel Mae Houck, 90, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 12, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Vance F. and Ella Margaret Bush Carbaugh.
She was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Middletown and was a former production worker at the former Hestaco Dress Factory.
She enjoyed gardening, camping with her husband, and spending time with family but her greatest joy was the love she received from her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D. Houck, a brother, Frank Carbaugh, and a sister, Silvia Billet.
She is survived by her son, Stanley H. Nowicki Jr. of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Hazel Mae (Carlson) Miller and her husband Raymond of Macedon NY and Ann (Carlson) McCann of Hummelstown; six grandchildren, two of which spent a great deal of time with Hazel, Ann R. (Miller) Michaels, and Joshua W. McCann; five great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine (Carbaugh) Olweiler.
A tribute to Hazel's life will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 260 E. Main St. Middletown. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services, Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown.
Memorial contributions may be made in Hazel's name to the Human Society Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg PA 17111.
