Hazel M. Kozma, 92, of Houghton Lake Heights passed away on Tuesday February 5, 2013 at King Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre. Hazel was born on August 16, 1920 in Newport, Michigan to Eli and Mary (Bomia) Neadeau. She worked as a Riveter for the Willow Run Bomber Plant during WW II and for several years after. In 1939, in Newport, Hazel was married to Chester Eastman, who preceded her in death in 1941. Hazel later married on August 5, 1944 in Newport to Joseph Paul Kozma, and he preceded Hazel in death in 1995. Hazel was a member of the Houghton Lake Eagles, Houghton Lake Moose, Shuffleboard League, and the Euchre Club. Surviving Mrs. Kozma are her daughter - JoAnn (Doyle) Martin of Houghton Lake; 2 sons - Charles (Rachael) Eastman of Houghton Lake, and John (Judy) Kozma of Houghton Lake; - several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; along with many nieces, and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ed, Clayton, Harold, and Kenny and three sisters, Pearl, Myrtle, and Marie. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hazel M. Kozma will be conducted at 2:00PM Saturday February 9, 2013 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Fr. Larry Sergott officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 9, 2013 from 12:00PM until the time of the service at 2:00PM at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial Contribution in memory of Hazel are asked to be directed to the American Heart Association or American Kidney Foundation. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
