Hector Alvarez Obituary
Hec was born and raised in Oxnard, CA where he attended Oxnard High School. He met Suzanne Feyma at Ventura College, married, raised two children and enjoyed boating, skiing, horses and bar-b-ques at their home in Oak View.
Hec graduated from Ventura College around 1964 with his RN degree and became a Psych tech at Camarillo State Hospital and managed different units. After several years he then decided to work at Oxnard Mental Health Services on the Crisis Team and counseled individual clients. In the 80s Hec was a case manager for Child Services.
In 1991 Hec met Luann Vance at a candy cane making party. They married and eventually settled in Santa Paula. Hec opened a private school called CalWest Learning Center in Ventura for special needs children. After retirement, Hec and Luann enjoyed traveling but most of all loved to dance and enjoyed weekends dancing at Logsdon's.
Hec is preceded in death by his mother Zoila Alvarez and father Jose Alvarez. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Luann; daughter Melissa (Missy) Dall; son Patrick Alvarez; former wife Suzanne; granddaughter Macy Dall; grandson Max Dall; sister Rachel Nicolas; sister Gloria Hardy; and sister Christine Nickolson.
On April 22, 2025, there will be a visitation from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm and burial to immediately follow at Santa Clara Cemetery & Mortuary located at 2370 N. H Street, Oxnard, CA 93060.
