Helen E. Horn

Helen E. Horn, 81, of Mt. Bethel, PA, passed away Thursday, March 31st, at Gracedale, Northampton County Home, Nazareth, PA. Helen was born in Lower Mt. Bethel Twp., PA on August 24, 1934, a daughter of the late David and Dorothy (Schoch) Fox. She was the widow of Elton W. Horn, who passed away last year. Helen retired from Owens Brockway in Belvidere, NJ. Prior to that, she was employed as a seamstress for several garment mills in the Slate Belt area, including the former Portland Novelty Co. in Portland, PA. She was a 1952 graduate of Bangor High School. Helen enjoyed quilling. She was a former den mother for Cub Scout Pack 714 in Stone Church, a former committee member for Boy Scout Troop 38 in Bangor, and was a former President and member of the Bangor Band Boosters. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Mt. Bethel, PA, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and deaconess. Helen is survived by a daughter, Lynn Coyle and her husband Peter, of Mt. Bethel, PA; two sons, Dennis Horn and his wife Jacqueline, of Bangor, PA, and Wayne Horn, of Mt. Bethel, PA, 3 grandchildren Christopher Coyle and his wife Kimberly, of Pen Argyl, PA, Janessa Horn and her fiancee Brooks Baker, of Bangor, PA, and Erik Horn, of Stroudsburg, PA, and 5 great grandchildren Ashley Coyle, Jayden and Kody Garis, Landon Horn, and Taylor Baker. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 5th at Mt. Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, 1270 Belvidere Corner Road, Mt. Bethel, PA with Pastor Dan Christenson and Pastor Chris Priestaf officiating. Friends are invited to call 6 - 8 PM on Monday, April 4th, and from 1 - 2 PM on Tuesday, April 5th at the church. Burial will be held at Centreville Cemetery, Mt. Bethel, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA.
