For many years she was an active and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church
WOODSTOCK - Helen Thompson Kay, 93, of Woodstock and formerly of Neenah, Wis., died Thursday, March 30, at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock.
She was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Henning, Minn., to Anton and Ragnhild Thompson. On July 20, 1940, she married Robert E. Kay in Henning.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta and earned a degree in elementary education. For many years she was an active and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, and she participated in the women's organization.
She also gave freely of her time to the American Association of University Women, the Service Circle of King's Daughters, and Lawyer's Wives.
Survivors include two daughters, Marthea K. (Philip) Spencer of McHenry and Vinje K. Grant of Madison, Wis.; three grandchildren, Tenaya V. Grant of Stoughton, Wis., Cara M. Grant of Seattle, W.Va., and Tahan N. Grant of San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and three sisters.
The visitation will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, at the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum in Neenah, Wis. The service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the mausoleum.
Entombment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established benefiting Woodstock Christian Life Services, 318 Christian Way, Woodstock, IL 60098. She had lived there for the past 5 years.
