Helen M. Keating, nee Durkin, passed away peacefully with loved ones around her on May 10, 2023, in Grand View Hospital as the result of a stroke. Previously from Hilltown Township, she most recently resided in Parkview, the memory care unit of Souderton Mennonite Homes.
Helen was born in Abington, PA on November 6, 1924 to the late Thomas F. and Helen J. (Moffitt) Durkin. She graduated from Abington High School in 1942. After starting her secretarial career at Standard Pressed Steel, she married Paul J. (Pud) Keating on November 6, 1948. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her grandson Ryan Allen, and her brother John T. Durkin, Sr.
Surviving Helen are her children Gary Keating and wife Joan of Sellersville, PA; Lynn Graham of New Cumberland, PA; Kevin Keating and wife Anita of North Port, FL; Karen Allen of Quakertown, PA; grandchildren Kyle Keating (Lisa), Mitchell Keating (Sarah), Collin Keating (Nicole), Danny Keating, Steven Keating, Morgan Allen Foley (John); twelve great-grandchildren, sister Clare Carlin, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Helen also answered to Breezy, a high school nickname, and Tootsie, a family nickname affectionately started by her oldest grandson more than forty years ago. In the day, Tootsie could be found playing golf, bowling, playing bridge, or traveling with Pud. She loved music and dancing and having a good time.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Souderton Mennonite Home Summit View Auditorium at 207 W. Summit Street, Souderton, PA. A visiting hour will be from 11:30 to 12:30 P.M. with a service directly following.
In lieu of flowers, raise your glass (preferably a CC & soda with a twist) in honor of Tootsie, dance a little, and share an act of kindness with someone. If you wish, make a contribution to a charity of your own choice.
Arrangements are being handled by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, Perkasie, PA.

Tootsie will forever be fondly remembered as a wonderfully sunny soul. Her zest for life and love of being a part of everything made her many friends. May the light of her heart fill the family with love and the best memories of such a lovely lady. My sympathy to all for your loss.
