Helen Ann Yousko

Helen Ann Yousko, Mother, Grandmother, Great Friend died January 22, 2024, after a long battle against Alzheimer's and Cancer. She died peacefully. Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on April 21, 1941, she was the middle child of 3 children. Helen grew up in Windsor and after high school attended Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston, Ontario, graduating in 1962 as a registered nurse. Following graduation she travelled to Los Angeles, California in search of adventure and a nursing job at Queen of Angels Hospital. A few months after moving to California, Helen met Richard Yousko who had recently moved from Cleveland, Ohio. After a brief courtship Helen and Richard married on April 4, 1964. Helen and Richard moved to Burbank, California in 1964, had their first child in 1965 and remained married and living in Burbank for the next 54 years until Richard passed away in 2019.

Helen lived a life of service, in Burbank, she became an active member of the community first working at St Jospeh Hospital. After raising 3 children she took a nursing position at the pediatric doctor's office of Dr. Coffelt, Salawy and Shammas. In mid-1980's Helen accepted a position to join the Burbank Unified School District as school nurse. During her tenure she served at Jefferson School, Luther Burbank School and John Muir School. During her career Helen and Richard became fixtures of St Finbar Parish in Burbank while raising their 3 children. Helen was consistently active in the community at St Finbar Church and School, Providence High School and St Joseph Medical center she served so many others until her Alzheimer's stopped her.

Helen is survived by, Sons Richard and James, Daughter Ann Marie, son-in-law Tim, daughter in -law Sundi, along with 4 beautiful granddaughters - Spenser, Jensen, Grace and Anna
