Ive known you our last two years in high school. To be blunt Ive had a huge crush on you at first sight. You were exquisite and intelligent. As the last person said not envious but aspired I was through you. Your travels motivated me to do the same. Your effort in your work and with school made me want to do the same. As a brown man I was motivated to help our brown community through the love and kindness this Latina woman had. What scares me about your death is that same day we both flew through planes. And I still have goosebumps thinking about that. Im now more inclined to keep the movement you started going. I hope that where ever your soul is now, many people (myself included) want to grow and keep your legacy going. Rest easy, Helena.

I didn't know you personally, Helena, we may have talked once or twice in school- but you always left me starstruck. I admired you since middle school. You were "perfect" to me. I didn't envy you, but I took inspiration from you. My heart was heavy when I learned that you had passed. You have influenced and inspired people you have never known, met, and even knew existed.
