Helga Walker Smith was born to Joseph Hack and Maria Zajic Hack in Stod Germany - March 28th 1942. Shortly after her birth Helga’s family moved to Cologne Germany, where she would be raised. Helga's mother Maria passed away at a young age. Dr. Hack would remarry and the family would be joined by Helga's half-brother Ronald.
In 1965 Helga met Dr. Bruce Walker while working in Switzerland. In 1966 she immigrated to the United States where she would marry Bruce Walker and live in Treasure Island, Florida. They welcomed their first son LeRoy in 1968. Two years later the family would move to Saint Petersburg Florida where they welcomed their second son Brian. Bruce and Helga would divorce in 1983.
In 1987 Helga met Colonel William Smith in Seminole Florida. Helga and Bill married in July of 1990. Helga's family at that time would grow to include William’s son and daughter Richard Smith and Laura Gaynor. In the decades that would follow Helga welcomed seven grandchildren to her family legacy. Bill and Helga would remain married for 26 years.
Helga Walker Smith passed from our world to join the endless grace of The Lord on March 13th 2017. Helga is survived by her family; brother Ronald Hack, husband Bill Smith, her children Leroy Walker, Brian Walker, Richard Smith and Laura Gaynor. She is also survived by seven beloved grandchildren Kayleigh, Rocco, Maxwell, Morgan, Ella, Ava, and Trent, as well as many other family members and friends. Helga is an inspiration and will live on in our loving memory.
