Henry Boutilier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 2, 2025.
Henry Barney "Skip" Boutilier, 80, passed away quietly on August 24, 2024, in Titusville, Florida.

Born on July 9, 1944, in South Hadley, Massachusetts, Skip attended South Hadley High School. He went on to dedicate his life to public service and craftsmanship. Early in life, he joined the National Guard alongside his best friend Stan Guda -a commitment that reflected his enduring sense of duty and camaraderie.

Skip built a distinguished career as a firefighter at Westover Airforce Base, where he served with dedication and integrity for nearly 30 years. His work left a lasting impact on those who served beside him.

Outside of his professional life, Skip found joy in carpentry and was known for his skillful hands and creative spirit. Whether building something new or restoring the old, he approached each project with care and precision. He also had a passion for watching NASCAR races, enjoying the thrill of the sport and the community it fostered.

Skip is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joyce (Lavigne), who stood by his side through every chapter of life. He also leaves behind his daughter Tammy (Spillman) and grandson Connor Spillman, both brought him great pride and whom he cherished. He will be dearly remembered by his siblings: Barbara (Eckman), Gordon "Mike," Charles "Chuck," and David "Dave." Other people whose lives he has touched are too numerous to mention, cousins, in-laws, friends, and co-workers.

A quiet man of strength and unwavering loyalty, Skip's legacy lives on in the lives he touched through service, family bonds, and shared passions. May his memory bring comfort to all those who knew him.
