Henry Klink Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 11 to Aug. 16, 2023.
Dec. 29, 1928 - July 28, 2023
Henry was born in Strongsville, Ohio, to parents Henry F. Klink Sr. and Viola Burnett. His childhood was a life on the family farm where he was a 4Her and showed animals at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea. He had chickens, pigs, steers, and a riding horse named Dapper Dan.
He graduated from Strongsville High School, was active in cheerleading, and served as the Class President. He attended The Ohio State University for one year in Columbus, Ohio and played the French Horn in the OSU Marching Band. He was drafted into the Army for two years, achieving the rank of Private First Class, and was stationed in Ft. Knox Kentucky during the Korean War.
Henry married Ethyl Elaine Brainard in 1952 and together they raised three sons. He worked in the family plumbing businesses in Strongsville, as a dental technician for Dr. Dale Brainard, and held various positions with Honeywell Computer Systems. At the age of 63, Henry started the Hank Klink Plumbing business and served the Cleveland suburbs under the slogan– Here Comes Hank. He loved music and was the choir director for the Strongsville United Methodist Church for 25 years. He also directed choirs for many years at the United Church of Christ in Strongsville and the United Methodist churches in North Olmsted and Amherst.
In spite of his busy schedule, he made time for his family and friends. He enjoyed birthday parties, holidays, class reunions, and collecting antiques.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Donna Peeples, John Klink, Robert Klink, Shirley Sayles, and Mary Tibbitts; and son, Kevin Klink.
He is survived by his fiancee, Dorene Baldridge and daughter Cyndy (Ted, deceased); brother, Richard Klink; son, Timothy (Cynthia); son, Keith (Tracy); and grandchildren Nathan (Julia), Brian, Valerie, Katie (Tony), Ben (Tina), Hannah, Kalissa, Dane (Randi), Kaylee (Zach), Logan (Danielle), McKenna (Alex), and Austin; plus 19 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Strongsville United Methodist Church, 13500 Royalton Road, Strongsville, Ohio.

Seeing and speaking with
Henry, when we were young and going to church. Than later fixing plumbing at mom's (C. Jackson's). Always pleasant. And telling a story.
