Mr. Henry Lamar Lockhart, age 84 of Crystal River, Florida, went home Monday, March 27, 2023 in Lecanto, FL. He was born January 2, 1939 in Mitchell, GA, son of Maurice and Clyde (Wilcher) Lockhart.
Lamar worked for TECO for 35 years mainly dealing with Right of Way issues. After his retirement, he served as the East Hillsborough County Division Director for the United Way and worked for Florida Gas Transmission Company. He moved to Crystal River, FL 15 years ago from Plant City, FL. Lamar enjoyed photography, singing in the church choir and helping his fellow man. His family describes Lamar as an honorable man with immense integrity. He was a member of Seven Rivers Church, the Plant City Civitan Club, the Plant City Jaycees, the American Right of Way Association and the International Right of Way Association. Lamar also volunteered his time in various capacities with the Plant City Strawberry Festival, Habitat for Humanity and the Seven Rivers Disaster Relief Team.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Lamar is survived by wife, Joann Lockhart of Crystal River, FL, his children, Cheryl (Scott) Vicari of Celebration, FL, Candace (Michael) Marshall of Orange Cit, FL, Marty Lockhart of Plant City, FL, Charles (Kelli) Crist of St. Augustine, FL, Donna Strickland of Homosassa, FL, and Daniel (Tracy) Crist of Plant City, FL, his brother, James (Anil) Lockhart of Altamonte Springs, FL, 11 Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Seven Rivers Christian School, 422 West Gulf to Lake Highway, Lecanto, FL 34461 www.sevenrivers cs.org or Vitas Hospice Program 78, Post Office Box 1330, Lecanto, FL 34460. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.HooperFuneralHome.com.
