Herbert Stewart Obituary

Herbert H. 'Bert' Stewart, age 82, of Greenwich, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky. He was born February 17, 1929, in Ashville, N.C., son of the late Robert H. and Juanita (Severs) Stewart. Mr. Stewart had lived in Michigan, Norwalk and Greenwich since the 1970's. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Bert was an electrician until he retired in 2004. From 1982 until 2004, he and his first wife, Jo owned and operated Stewart Electric in Greenwich. He was a member of the Norwalk V.F.W. Post 2743. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his children, Rose (Ron) Miller, Sue (Rich) Thornton, and Flo (Scott) Alto all of Willard, Dawn McLaughlin and Larry (Robin) Stewart all of Greenwich, Glenn Stewart of New Washington; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; his stepchildren, Steve (Lisa) Ray, Jeff (Teri) Ray, Shari Ray, Debbie Montgomery; 10 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren; his sister, Sarah May of Virginia; and Buddy his dog. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine Stewart, his son, Bryan Stewart, his brothers, Bill, Bob, Jack Stewart, his sister, Daisy Snyder and his son in law, Richard McLaughlin. Friends may call from 6 ' 8 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Bob Hudberg officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich. Memorials may be given to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
