Even though I miss my Nana a lot, there are too many things that come to mind to make me smile when I think of her. Here are just a few:
you can never wear enough perfume,
dessert should be the first priority on the food peramid,
roast pork isn't the same without crackling,
it's okay to be left handed (especially when you knit),
you can make your own unique hair colour if you mix more than one box of colour together,
never leave the house without making your bed & doing your dishes,
furniture polish is your friend,
move the furniture around on a regular basis to keep your spouse on their toes,
never turn fresh baked cake (especially orange cake) out of their pans over a sink full of dishwater,
you should put your face on before you leave the house, even if it's just for groceries,
never wash your teapot and
Coronation Street, cookies & tea were made for each other!
Thanks for teaching me to knit, make crispy merinque, knitting Toes a Christmas stocking and for all the wonderful memories!

For us, her spirit will live on in every knit and purl of love that she put into our dolls and teddy bears. She took the same care in raising her family and in passing on her wisdom to her grandchildren.
Sunday evenings at Nana's and Grandpa's was always special, with Nana preparing a delicious roast dinner often complete with her fabulous homemade lemon meringue pie!
Great Nana(G-Nana) also adored each of her great-grandchildren and always kept a small toy or yummy cookie around just in case.
Dearest Nana,
You were a most beautiful, caring humerous darling and we shall miss you tremendously.

Geoff and Joyce and families - our deepest sympathy. Your Mom was a great person. She and your father were two of Dad's few links to family from England. We know how hard it is to lose a mother, and you have our condolences.

My Aunty Hilda was my nana's sister - and therefore actually my Great Aunty Hilda. I first met her when I was 12 when she came over to the UK to visit her sister and brother, who I was raised by. Aunty Hilda had emigrated from Liverpool to Canada in the early 1950s but although we were separated by the Atlantic Ocean I was fortunate to see her on many occasions in the intervening years. She was a lovely lady with a great sense of humour (naturally - after all, she was born and bred in Liverpool!) and I always looked forward to seeing her. She always had a story to tell and usually she was laughing at some stage in the telling!
She was the youngest of at least 7 children born to Albert and Elizabeth (nee Graham) Richards spanning the entire 20th century and beyond - and her passing marks the end of an era, as all have sadly now passed away.
If Aunty Hilda has a legacy then it is in the wonderful (and very large) family she has left behind. And I can't be more complimentry than that.
