Hilda Diaz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 30, 2025.
Hilda Catalina "Cathy" Diaz, 65, passed away on April 26, 2025, in Astoria, New York. Born on April 5, 1960, in Guatemala City, she carried the warmth and spirit of her birthplace throughout her life.

Affectionately known as Cathy, she was a devoted mother to her sons Steve Diaz, Victor Pagan-Diaz (Missy Garner), and daughter Marlene Diaz. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-crafting with care and creativity, enjoying quiet moments with coffee and cookies, spending time with her family and friends, and delighting in photos of her granddaughter, Brooklyn Pagan-Diaz.

Cathy was a woman of deep faith who practiced Catholicism throughout her life. Her beliefs were a source of strength and comfort to her and those around her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorenza Rueda, and her daughter Marlene, whose memories remained close to Cathy's heart.

May Hilda Catalina "Cathy" Diaz's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

First , my sincere condolences to all of Cathy´s family, especially to my son-in-law Victor, daughter Melissa & granddaughter Brooklyn, I know she will be dearly missed..... My memories of Cathy stem from her spending Christmas with us here in Texas and then again a Florida vacation hosted by Vic & Missy. I never seen her without a smile on her face and there was never an unkind word from her lips.. And when she laughed it was from deep within and you just knew she was tickled pink.... I believe she just loved every thing and everybody. She was truly a sweet soul and I know she is with our lord and savior.. Till we meet again dear friend.
