Hildegard Creutz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 16, 2024.
Streamwood, Il - Hildegard E. Creutz, age 94, and a resident of Westbrook Senior Living in Streamwood, IL, passed to eternal rest Saturday, July 27, at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence. "Hil" grew up in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church where she made many lifelong friends and met her husband, Werner. She and Werner lived and raised a family on the northwest side of Chicago and then moved to Elk Grove Village.

Hil's favorite memories were spent with family and good friends at holiday gatherings, family parties in the basement, vacations at Carpenter Lake in Eagle River Wisconsin, and at both her son's lake homes. She cherished her dear girlfriends from grade school, high school, and Westbrook, and was blessed with kind and special neighbors over the years. Hil enjoyed serving in church ministries, bible study, baking, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading, iPad games, and exercising on the NuStep bike in the gym. She will always be remembered as a faithful woman of God, a prayer warrior, and a wonderful role model to her family.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Louise), Carol (Joe) Hajkaluk, Ron (Debbie), 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Lauren), Beth (Matt), Becky, Melissa (Owen), Stephanie (Jimmy); and 10 great-grandchildren, Caroline, Connor, Colin, Corbin, Sage, Anaiah, Israel, Kiera, Liv and Camden. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Richard Werner, parents, Otto and Alma Wagner, brother Wolfgang (Catherine) and sister-in-law Annelies (George). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 S. Rush Street, Roselle, IL 60172 or to a favorite charity.

Visitation from 9-11 am Saturday, October 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church; 405 S. Rush Street in Roselle, IL 60172 followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 am.
