Honey Raider Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 4, 2025.
Honey Raider passed away peacefully at home in New York City on April 26, 2025, at the age of 97. She was the daughter of Samuel Fassler, former Commissioner of Buildings for New York City, and Ruth Schlanger Fassler.

A graduate of Adelphi University, Honey was a pioneering figure in the New York theatrical community. She founded and served as President of Talent Representatives, a boutique theatrical agency she led for over five decades. Her influence extended beyond her agency work; as an active member of the National Association of Talent Representatives (NATR), she contributed to advocacy efforts that reached the U.S. Supreme Court. In recognition of her enduring impact on the industry, she received NATR's Lifetime Achievement Award and was honored as a Tony voter.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Honey was deeply involved in her local community. She served multiple terms as President of her Manhattan co-op board, where she championed initiatives that improved both her building and neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ruth Fassler; her husband, Dr. Leonard J. Raider; her sister, Mildred Ruby; and her brother, Arnold Fassler.

Honey is survived by her children Stacey Raider and Steven Raider, and daughter-in-law Anne Bressoud Raider; nieces Ellen Silverstone and Carol and Andy Fassler; nephew David Ruby; great-nieces Julie Silverstone, Laura Silverstone Frouman, and Rebecca Blazier-Higman; great-nephew Michael Ruby; and their beloved families. She is also remembered by many close friends whom she loved and considered family.

Honey's legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched in both the theatrical world and her community. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Honey's memory to Hospice of the Valley - Phoenix at hov.org/donate.

Honey, the sweetest!! You were a mentor who taught me so much and showed so many that Agents could be both fierce and kind at the same time. So many people love you, adore you so much. I will continue to work and live with the example that you have lead. Thank you for caring about me and so many of us. Love, Lakey

Honey Raider was a force that rocked the New York entertainment scene for decades. There should be a statue of her in Central Park. Anyone who met Honey felt her technicolor energy, her crisp honesty, and deep love of friends and family. She was a doer. Honey made things happen and was the embodiment of all the best attributes of a New Yorker cooking it up. Her life was devoted to lifting up others and she navigated shark infested waters with humor, dignity, compassion and grace to get the job done. Honey is a legend in this town; but her wisdom, her family, her integrity, and her personal charisma is what friends and colleagues will remember most. Honey is no doubt making things happen big time in her new domain. You go, girl! We will miss you!

Dear Stacy, Steven, and family,

I'm sorry for your loss. We never met, but Honey was my agent from 2002 to 2011. She was my first "legit" agent. She got me my first TV gig. She got me in the door at some great regional theatres, including Geva and the Denver Center, which was the beginning of wonderful relationships with those institutions. I'm grateful to her for lifting my career to the next level. Honey, and your family, will be in my prayers in these coming days.

The Raider family will always hold a deep place in the hearts of the Neary family. Honey, Stacey and Steve were one of the first families to come into Neary´s and came right up until we closed our doors 57 years later. Honey was like a second mom to me. She always had a smile on her face and an absolute pleasure to know. I was blessed to spend time with Honey, Steve and Anne in their country homes - and what an honor it was. Honey lived a tremendously fulfilling life - both personally and professionally. Now she is enjoying her heavenly reward with her family and friends that were waiting to greet her. Honey, you will be deeply missed because you were deeply loved. Rest In Peace. xo, Una and the whole Neary family
