Howard Lombard Obituary
Lee and Linda were high school sweethearts in the 70's. They went their separate ways until 2008 when they re-connected with the same love and spark they had at 15 and 17. They were married on April 4, 2009 and would be celebrating their 2nd anniversary on the day Lee passed.
Lee loved to hunt, fish, work with his remote controlled airplanes and ride his Harley. Life was what Lee lived for.
Lee was an endowed lifetime member of the Grand Masonic Lodge of Texas, Jacques Demolay chapter 1390, Houston. He was also a Shriner and involved in many other endeavors.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his children Heather Varela (Randy), Keith Lombard, Linsey Denning and Hunter Lombard, grandchildren Kade Lombard, Rylan, Hadlee and Rowan Varela, sisters Betty Jo Real (Pat) and Sharon Wilkerson (Clarence), a niece and three nephews, his mother-in-law (mom to him) Ann Guillory (Ray) and brother-in-law Brad Stevens. He is also survived by a huge extended family at DPS and a host of friends across the country.
Thank you to all who have supported our family through this tragedy. Lee would be so proud.
A visitation will take place from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2011 at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH 35, in Pflugerville, Texas, with Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Lee, I love you and miss you terribly but I am eternally grateful for the love you showed me. You always made sure that I knew you felt about me. You made my life the best it's ever been. I held you in my heart all the years we were apart and I will hold you forever until we're together again. I can't wait for your arms to be wrapped around me again. Your loving wife, Linda

Linda, I am so sorry for your loss! I had no idea that Lee was gone or that you 2 had met up and married! Lee was a great guy. I am sorry for your loss and I am sorry the world lost such a good man. His 1000 watt smile could light up any room. God bless you, Linda.

Apologies for the late entry as I just found out about Lee's tragic accident. As a fellow classmate of his at the Marine Military Academy I remember the good times we shared and thought of him often throughout the years.
I share your loss and sadness, however must admit you are one of the luckiest people to have known Lee and shared in his life.

I am a fellow mentor and have shared a library table with you a few times at Reilly with our kids and I remember overhearing you talk about Lee to others about your marriage and how you two had reconnected and I would see you glow while speaking of him. What a special love! I have also heard so many great things about Lee about what a wonderful, caring person he was. This earth has lost a true angel and is a sadder place without him here, but it seems that god also needed an angel, so he chose Lee. I do not know who you are, however sadly our lives are not that different. I lost my father 10 years ago at the same age as your husband in a fatal car accident. I miss my father so much that I cry sometimes for no reason. You will have days of grief and then you will have days of happiness. It was last year that I really first got to know Lee. As we worked together getting things ready for the Jubilee, you come up to where we were working. Lee just beamed with joy when you got there. He told us many stories about yours and his special loving relationship. And how your cruise was just the best thing ever. I am so proud to be able to say I was a co-worker, but even better, a friend with Lee. He was a very special person and a great asset to our team. He will be sorely missed by our Communications Emergency Response team. I will not only miss his great knowledge of the Command trailers but his sense of humor, which is alway a needed quality on long deployments.

Linda- We will always cherish the many times we spent with you guys, especially the Motorcycle Rally in Galveston. I also enjoyed, working with him everyday in TDEM.
