For my first job as a lawyer 35 years ago, I had the distinct honor of being put in an associate's office directly across the hall from Hugh Chapin. What a thrill to just watch him, and Frank Carr, the two preeminent leaders of the Nation's intellectual property bar, from twenty feet away. Hugh was probably the most dapper gentleman lawyer of his era. It was a privilege to watch him display brilliance and professionalism at the highest level. I have thought about my good fortune of having that office for the first five years of career many times since. My condolences to his family. He will be fondly remembered for years to come.

Hugh was one of the great lawyers in the IP field who I had the pleasure of working with for a number of years. He was a good friend and partner at Kenyon. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and many friends. Al Breneisen

Hugh and Judy were our first and fast friends when we moved to Lamson Lane almost 20 years ago. Hugh was a gracious host and an astute observer of society. We will miss our evening gatherings on the deck. Our loving thoughts go out to all the family. Lorraine and Stephen Sonnabend

My husband, Francis T. Carr and Hugh were partners at Kenyon & Kenyon for many years. They personified the finest that the New York Bar stood for. It was an honor to know Hugh and I know that he'll rest in peace. My sincerest condolences to his family.
