Ian, then with Elphick Securities, was the first person I worked for on the trading floor of the VSE (1968). In that rowdy place he stood out like the gentleman he was -- always helpful, invariably polite. As time went on and we became good friends, I learned to value Ian's wisdom and judgment. Working with him was a privilege, one for which I will always be grateful. Like all who knew him, I will miss him very much.

Ian was one of the most interesting and fun
loving people I have ever had the privilege
of knowing. He will be missed by us all.
My condolences to his wife Tish, and the rest of his family.
