ILENE GREENSTONE Obituary
On Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Beloved wife of Ted Greenstone; beloved mother of Benjamin Greenstone (Jackie PePe) and Anna Greenstone; sister of Marcia Solomon (Tom Schuman), Linda Solomon Franklin (Ginny Matone), Amy (Dean) Hallett and Mitchell (Debbie) Solomon; "Bobi" to Matilda Ilene and Caleb Greenstone; niece of Bernice Levine. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Shiva will be at Linda and Ginny's home through Friday until Shabbat. Services at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to services (10-11 a.m.) Interment Shaare Torah Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Radnor Station, Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, PA 19087 or Kane Regional-Glen Hazel, 955 Rivermont Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15207. www.schugar.com.

I just did an on-line search for Ilene as I wanted to speak to her about a program that I am preparing. We had co-facilitated years ago. She was creative and had a wonderful presence with a great sense of humor. I looked up to her as her knowledge and her facilitation style were superb. Imagine my shock to find her obituary. I am writing because I want her family to know what a strong and positive impression she'd left on me that all these years later I thought of her as a resource as I am preparing a program on early childhood curriculum. I saw her last some years ago when I was traveling by car near Pittsburgh and we arranged to meet for a picnic lunch off of the turnpike! I send my deepest condolences. A tragic loss for us all.

Patricia and I offer our condolences to Ted and his family. I have fond memories of Ilene growing up with her brother and sisters. I will miss her so much.
