Irene Jordan Obituary

Irene Jordan, 92, St. Joseph, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at a local health center.
Irene was born April 14, 1916, in Hickory County in Hermitage, Mo. She formerly resided in Wheatland, Mo., and Warrensburg, Mo., until moving to St. Joseph in 1979.
She married Homer J. Jordan, who preceded her in death in 2006.
She was a homemaker and retired as a cook from the Warrensburg School District.
She was a loving mother and lived for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Jordan was also preceded in death by her parents, Vet and Elsie (Long) Pearson; daughter, Mary Dimaggo; three brothers, Vergil, Floyd and Lloyd Pearson.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Warrensburg and made beautiful quilts by hand.
Survivors: two sons, William E. Jordan and wife, Kaye, St. Joseph, and Loren Homer Jordan and wife Linda, Wheatland; daughter, Ethel Seigfreid and husband, Bruce, Warrensburg; sister, Velma Allen; brother, Paul Pearson both of Bolivar, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside service and interment: 3 p.m. Monday, Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Jospeh. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Joseph.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Hands of Hope Hospice.
