Irene Schmidt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 28, 2012.
Irene R Schmidt, age 59, peacefully passed into rest, March 27, 2012. She was born April 22, 1952 to Mother, Verna Bell Currie, and Father, Harold Maxie Rains, in Houston, Texas. Growing up with her loving family in Grangerland, TX, she soon met and married her beloved husband, William Schmidt Jr., in 1967. In May 1973, at age 21, she had her first and only child, a son, Adam Troy Schmidt. After a short time of living and traveling with her new family to many unique and beautiful places, such as Germany, Holland, and other European countries, Irene finally called the Lake Conroe area her home. She loved gardening and relaxing outdoors with her family. She also loved and was known for her incredible cooking and baking abilities. One of her proudest moments in life, was in 1997, when she became a Grandmother to Chase Hunter Schmidt. They enjoyed exploring the outdoors together and gathering and collecting "treasures". Survivors include her loving husband, William Schmidt; son, Adam Schmidt; grandson, Chase Hunter Schmidt; sister, Maxine Johnson and brother-in –law, Donald Johnson; niece and nephew, Tiffany and J.D. Johnson; along with family and close friends. A gathering of her family and close friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Cashner Funeral Home and Cemetery, 801 Teas Road, Conroe Texas, 77303. I meet Irene back in the late 1980's when I worked at Kroger. Irene was a hard worker and a great wife and mother. She loved her son more than anything and cherished her grandson. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Butch, Adam, and, Chase during this difficult time. Irene was an amazing person and she will be sorely missed. I will always remember Irene as she was before her illness, a flurry of activity; constantly cooking, cleaning, and working in the yard. Please let me know if there is anything at all that I can do to help you.
