Iris Cattel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 7, 2025.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Iris J. Cattel on August 5, 2025. Iris was born on November 18, 1931, and lived a life that was vibrantly filled with love for her family and faith. Iris was preceded in death by her husband Tom of 62 years. Now she has joined him with the Lord in a new and glorified body.

Iris is survived by her loving children - Tom (Janet) Gary (Cheryl), and Lorra Hubble. Also, her grandchildren Tiffany Cattel Gonzalez, Tom E. Cattel, Kristen Dawson and Colleen Joyce, and seven great grandchildren.

Known for her zest for life, her infectious energy was contagious among her friends and family members.

Her Lutheran faith and family were her world and she deeply cherished every moment she spent with them. As an attendee at the Trinity Lutheran Church and Stephen Minister, Iris was a woman of strong faith. Her love for Christ was one of the greatest lessons she shared with her family, friends and everyone she met.

Iris expressed her creative spirit through her favorite art form - watercolor painting, which she took up in her 50's. She also loved playing Scrabble and card games with family and friends where her competitive nature showed through.

As we mourn the loss of Iris Cattel, we celebrate her life, her love for her family, her faith, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed but will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the future at Trinity Lutheran Church to celebrate her life.
