Irving Merwin Obituary
He was born Aug. 30, 1912, in Roxbury the son of the late William and Emma (Hugabone) Merwin.
Irving married Anna Moxham on Sept. 26, 1937. Anna predeceased him on Nov. 28, 1986.
Irving was a lifelong resident of Jefferson where he operated a dairy farm.
He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Irving is survived by six children, Shirley Beaulieu of Cherry Valley, Irving W. Merwin of Bloomville, Gary R. Merwin of Stamford, Etta Empie-Cook of Worcester, Richard I. Merwin of Harpersfield and Wilma Hendrickson of Jefferson; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Lewis Merwin, who resided with him; as well as several other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bob Kirsten of the Harpersfield and Stamford Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be held at a later date in the Harpersfield Cemetery, Harpersfield.
Funeral arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home of Oneonta.
