Irving A. Saver

FALMOUTH - Irving A. Saver (Zermonsky), dearly beloved husband of Muriel G. Saver of Hingham and Falmouth, died June 27, 2007, at the age of 86.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Ward of Falmouth, Susan Saver of St. Paul, Minn., Steven Saver and his wife Lyn of Milford, and Wendy Saver and her husband David Rockwood of Cambridge. He was the loving father-in-law of the late Diane Ward. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jodi Kuhn of Seattle, Lisa English of Houston, Michael Saver of Milford; his brother, Harold Hoch and his nephews, David, Rand, and Steven Hoch, all of Florida.

Born in Lawrence, he graduated Lawrence High School in 1938, attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, but left to serve four years in the 82nd Airborne in World War II as a paratrooper. During his long career in the film business, he worked with Wholesome Film of Boston, Alexander Film Co. of Colorado Springs, Colo., and General Cinema Corp. in Boston, retiring for General Cinema as a vice president in 1983.

His favorite employment was as a volunteer at Children's Hospital in Boston, and particularly, the nine years he spent in the third-grade classroom of Claire DeMello at the Mullen-Hall School in Falmouth.

Although an avid tennis player, golfer, and bridge enthusiast, he most appreciated his time with his wife and his children. He enjoyed travel, eating in fine restaurants, and sharing his wonderful sense of humor with his friends and family.
