Isabella Jade Klages

Isabella Jade Klages was born to Matthew and Hailey Klages on June 4th 2003 in Lansing, MI. She was raised in Mason, Michigan along with her siblings Elijah, Lillian, Violet, Archer and Olive who she loved dearly. Izzy was the ringleader, always there to pick the games, make sure everyone was involved and try to win them. She took her role as the oldest very seriously and was always there for her siblings. Izzy loved animals, but most of all her cat Moe. Izzy developed deep meaningful friendships in her life and will be remembered fondly by many in the community. She wore her heart on her sleeve and gave love freely to all her friends and family.

Isabella was a dedicated student who took her education seriously. She got excellent grades, was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. She played softball, basketball, and ran track in middle school. She continued softball into high school and made the varsity team. She enjoyed sports and was a fierce competitor. She graduated from Mason High school in 2021 with a certification as a medical assistant.

Izzy had dreams of traveling the world someday and was always chasing the sunset down her favorite country roads with the music blaring, always singing along. Izzy loved her friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do in the future, but we know she would have changed the world. She was a fierce believer in equal rights and always sticking up for the underdog.

Isabella was so much more courageous than she gave herself credit for. She felt the fear of her diagnosis, AML, and never let it stop her from living. She didn't want cancer to define her and it hasn't. During her brief remission, Izzy worked two jobs. She worked hard while giving special attention to detail. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, stunning smile, competitive streak and love of all the wonders life had to offer. Izzy was a free spirit with a wild heart whose memory will live on through the countless friends and families hearts she has touched. Izzy passed away surrounded by family on February 11, 2023. Izzy's Celebration of Life will be held on June 3rd, 2023, 4:00pm at The Sunset Place, Mason MI.
