Jabarie Cortez Smith

   Jabarie Cortez Smith  18 of Hampton, Virginia was called home to rest on Saturday, April 29, 203 in Norfolk, VA. Jabarie was a 2022 graduate of Hampton High School. Jabarie had a big heart, full of life. A joy to be around and a smile that would light up any room. He lived to be around his family. Jabarie was a member of the marching Elite team, as well as a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church East End. Where he served as a junior usher and was part of the mime ministry. Jabarie also was in a skating group called the mainstr33t Rollerz.

    At the age of 14 Jabarie was employed at the Peninsula Family Skating Rink and was also employed at Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News, Virginia as a welder. 

   Jabarie leaves to cherish fond memories; his loving mother Evelyn Smith, his sister Janiya Smith and God sister Armani Talton, His grandparents Pamela McNeill (Gaston); Alphonso Lee Slade, His special old lady Marilyn Taliaferro, His aunt Melissa McNeill (Smith) and uncle Carlton McNeill (AJ).Along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. His mentor and best friend Edmund (EJ) MacDonald and special cousin Rashon (Loskee) Brown. 

   Viewing will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 from 3 pm- 7 pm at Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Home, Service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 @ 12 noon at Church of Jesus 630 Anderson Lane Hampton, Virginia 23661. Interment will follow immediately at Hampton Memorial Gardens 155 Butler Farm Road Hampton, VA 23666.
