To the Cocking Family,
So very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, but at the same time so blessed to know of Jack's dedication to the Lord Jesus and His Church...there will be a time great reunion with our loved ones who have gone on before us. I can remember so many great times with your folks and mine visiting, laughing and living life to the fullest. One trip with our parents to Lake Tahoe comes to mind, especially when rock throwing at cars brought the authorities down on us boys, I can only imagine what our Dad's must have talked about when we were out of ear shot, what a trip that was.
Anyway boys I hope sometime we will get together compare stories and share in some laughs. Do take care, write when and if you can.

Throughout our lives we cross paths with many people. Some make a lasting impression, some not. Jack Cocking definitely made a lasting impression. I remember meeting Jack and Irene Cocking, as a young child, sometime in the 1950’s. Jack and Irene were very close friends of my parents and my father worked with Jack in the grocery business. Both men shared the fact that they were Navy veterans also. I have vivid memories of time spent with the Cockings. Any time the Leonard’s and the Cocking’s got together it was non-stop laughter and fun. I can never remember a time that Jack didn’t have a smile on his face. He was constantly making my father laugh. We moved away in the late 50’s but the families still kept in touch. There were periodic visits and those were always joyous occasions. As I grew older I would visit Southern Cal. and spend time at the beach with Terry and friends body surfing and doing the fun things that teenagers did in those days. The Cockings always made me feel welcome. Those memories are etched in my mind forever and are some of the fondest that I have of my childhood.
Thank you for those wonderful memories Jack. Thank you for making us all laugh and smile.
Now that you and Irene are together again I know that there is a little more happiness, laughter, and love in God’s Kingdom.
Rest in peace dear friend. You will be missed by many.
