Jack Fink Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2022.
Obituary for JACK ROBERT FINK, SR. BORN: January 19, 1937 DIED: July 31, 2022 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father – Jack Robert Fink, Sr, 85 of Aston, PA. Dad passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 31, 2022 surrounded by his children. He is in the loving arms of Jesus whose extravagant love and timing are impeccable. Although always proud to be a Texan, Jack was born in Brooklyn, New York where he spent a number of his childhood years. Jack relocated to Odessa, Texas as a teenager and graduated from Odessa High School. He misrepresented his age in order to enlist in the Army with his brother Joel during the Korean War. Dad was an intelligence officer stationed at Swarthmore College which is what brought him to the east coast. He was quickly promoted to the rank of sergeant and shortly after met his first wife, Joanne Marie Torris. Jack stayed on the east coast where he later married Eileen Martha McCloskey. Together they raised four children. Jack had many different jobs over the course of his lifetime. He worked full time until he retired at the age of 80. He was employed by the Philadelphia Electric Company until he started his own business. He owned Jack's Television Repair where he had a service contract with WT Grants Co. A number of years later, Dad began his career at the Delaware County Association for the Blind in Chester, PA where he was a plant supervisor. He then became a job coach for the Government Services Administration (GSA) where he assisted with on –the- job training/ job placement for those who were blind. Jack attempted retirement at age 70 but ended up landing a ten year career working as a courier for The Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union. Jack had a wry sense of humor and was eclectic in his abilities. He was a jack of all trades, mastering carpentry, electrical, plumbing and automotive. He could virtually fix anything. His favorite saying was, "I made it in woodshop!" Dad was always willing to lend a helping hand and had a strong work ethic. Jack was an amazing cook and loved to bake. Dad enjoyed preparing Sunday dinner for his children and grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Dad is survived by five children, Jack Fink, Jr (Lee) of Lansdale, PA; Cyndy Napp of Aston, PA; Jacqueline Lobb (Alan) of Aston, PA; Daniel Fink (Sandie) of Aston, PA; and his adopted son Issam Abdallah (Samia) of Woodbridge, NJ. In addition to his children are eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceded in death are his parents, Emmanuel Martin Fink and Mary Johnson; three siblings Sophia Ann Findley, Joel Fink, Leon Fink and his beloved wife Eileen Martha McCloskey Fink. A private burial was held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Aston, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Palliative Care Group of Bryn-Mawr Hospital. They assisted Dad on his journey Home to Jesus demonstrating amazing love, dignity and grace.
