Jack Jerzyk Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 19 to Mar. 21, 2021.
It is with broken hearts we reveal that Jack Ryan Jerzyk passed away on March 15, 2021. He predeceases his parents John and Pamela (Beck ) Jerzyk and his sister Rebecca Huard and her husband Matthew Huard and their beautiful children Julien and Gisele.
Jack was born in Tacoma, Washington and went to elementary schools in Chicopee and Granby. He attended Wilbraham Monson Academy and Holyoke Catholic High School. At Holyoke Catholic, Jack was a member of the National Honor Society. At graduation Jack was third in all-time scoring for Holyoke Catholic in basketball with over 1100+points. He was first team All-Western Mass in basketball and was All-Western Mass in golf.
Jack attended St. Anselm and UMASS as an undergrad obtaining his B.S. from UMASS. He then attended Western New England Law School and obtained his Juris Doctor degree there. Jack was employed as an Assistant District Attorney in Hampden County at Springfield for approximately 11 years.
Besides his parents John and Pam and his sister Rebecca and her husband Matt, Jack leaves behind his nephew Julien and niece Gisele, who he called his ‘little PoopyHeads”. He also leaves behind his Uncle Mike who he loved so dearly and many aunts, uncles as well as many cousins. He will be missed by his kind and loving friends, Joseph Lynskey and Ethan Percy, whom he affectionately enjoyed to joke and kid and frolic with.
Jack fondly talked of his court house friendships, especially with all the court officers and his fellow workers. He loved Adam Corolla and his kitties “Parker” and “Kiki”, The Cape, U2, Cold Play, the Celtics and Patriots. He spent his weekday evenings playing Jeopardy with his mom.
We will miss his soft and gentle soul, his sarcastic and joking demeanor and his biting wit. Our world will never be the same without him. He was our Rock Star.
Calling Hours will be held Mon from 5 to 7 PM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held SAT JUNE 26, 2021 at 2 PM at his parents’ home. All who knew, worked or loved Jack are welcome to come. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Jack’s name to the T.J. Dear Pam, John, and Becki,
Sending my love, hugs, and prayers. I am at a loss for words. Jack was so full of spirit and life. Him and Brian were like two peas in a pod. I know that words can only say so much, but I am truly sadden to hear of Jack’s passing. The one memory that stands out the most was when Jack was with us one year when we went to the Catskills and we went go-carting. Please know that you are all in my thoughts. Love always, Michelle.

John, Pam, Becky and Uncle Mike
It is hard to come up with words to describe the horrible loss you and all of us have suffered. I remember first meeting Jack when he was probably 4 or 5 when he and Becky and my Maureen would come to the gym while John and Mike and I and others pretended to play basketball. Since then I have watched Jack grow in the Granby youth leagues, at Holyoke Catholic and as a lawyer. He and Maureen were golf buddies at HCHS and have remained friends all these years later. Jack was always a friendly, polite and gentle young man who always had a smile and happy greeting when he saw you. Your loss if unimaginable to you and to us. Please know we all loved Jack and will cherish his memory. We are here for support and comfort that you may need, any time.
