WARREN - Jack M. Madore, 68, passed away Feb. 16, 2012, in Rockport. Born March 18, 1943, the son of Lionel J. and Mary (Bennett) Madore, Jack grew up in Southwest Harbor with his grandparents, Harry and Fanny Bennett. After graduating from Pemetic High School, he followed his love of the sea becoming a commercial fisherman working out of Rockland, Portland and New Bedford. He is survived by daughters, Jackielyn Madore of Bangor and Colette Madore of Union; a sister, Loretta Rogers of South Portland; brothers, Keith Madore of Trenton and Lionel John Madore of Berkeley, Calif.; stepchildren, Wendy VanDine, Jill Sullivan and Steve Clark; grandson, Caleb Madore; several nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at Pen Bay Hospital, especially the nurses, respiratory therapists and hospitalists in the Special Care Unit for the excellent and compassionate care given to Jack. Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering 11 a.m.-1 p.m. March 2 at American Legion Hall, 335 Limerock Ave., Rockland. For those who wish, donations may be made in Jack's memory to Humane Society of Knox County, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, ME 04841. Online condolences may be offered at www.directcremationofmaine.com.
