Jack Polen

Jack Polen was born on November 4, 1957 to Gertrude and Floyd Polen. Jack was the youngest of five brothers to include Paul, Leslie, Kenneth, and Joe. At a young age, Jack knew he was going to become a California Highway Patrolman. He participated in the ROTC program at Enterprise High School where he graduated. He received his AA degree from Shasta College and his BA in Criminal Justice from Sacramento State University. Jack graduated from the CHP Academy in 1980.
Jack was a follower of Christ, an outstanding officer, an amazing father, a loving husband, a thoughtful son, a loyal brother, a wonderful uncle, a supportive friend, a helpful, kind brother-in-law, a friendly School bus driver, a Civil War re-enactor, an Abraham Lincoln enthusiast, a collector of everything "Goofy", a creative wood worker, an all-around understanding, accepting you for exactly who you are, charismatic man. Jack was a lover of life, family, friends, and always took the time to chat with everyone he knew. No matter how much or little time Jack had, he always had time for others. 
Jack is the proud and loving father of three sons, Justin, Jared and Connor and three daughters, Breann, Jamie and Makenna. He is also the grandpa of Emma, Tatum, and Wyatt. 
Jack married Danielle in August of 2000. They shared an extraordinary marriage where they made time for each other, they worked and played together, and they actually knew how to communicate with each other. They loved to go on family vacations with extended family. 
As a Highway Patrolman, Jack received many awards because he enjoyed his job every day. He served in many capacities and excelled at everything he did. He served the people of California for 34 years. Jack was often asked when he was going to retire. His answer was he still loved his job. 
To everyone that reads this, please know Jack loved you all, wishes you the best, and encourages you to live your life to the fullest because he sure did.
Services are at Risen King Community Church on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at noon. The public is welcome. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice .
