Jack L Rossi

Jack L. Rossi passed away after a brief illness on September 12, 2023. Jack was born in Purdy Washington on January 20, 1932 to Gladys and Louis Rossi and was a lifelong resident of Gig Harbor, WA. Many of his years were spent living near the water either in Minter Creek in his childhood and Wollochet Bay as an adult. Jack was employed by Peninsula Light Company for over 30 years. He attended Peninsula High School and his claim to fame was throwing a no hitter in 1947. For this accomplishment he was inducted into the Pierce County League Hall of Fame. Jack served in the Army during the Korean War and won many awards on the Army Rifle Team. Jack was a member of many local organizations in the area including: the Gig Harbor Fisherman's Club; the Elks, the Wollochet Bay Punt and Canoe Club and the Fraternal order of the Eagles where he had his own bar stool of honor.

Jack is survived by two sisters, Bette Rusu of Gig Harbor, WA and Billie Clevenger of Springfield, IL

Jack is also survived by his children Heidi (Mohammed) Rossi Ghods of Santa Ana, CA, Ric (Tracy) Rossi of Gig Harbor, WA, Rod Rossi of Gig Harbor WA and Sabrina (Ed) Rossi Ball of Scottsdale AZ and 8 grandchildren, Emily, Noah, Sarah and Sam Ghods, Nicolas Rossi and Courtney, Cassidy and Chloe Ball.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring on Saturday April 6th at The Eagles in Gig Harbor, WA. Interment will be at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor WA.
