Dr. Jack Schwartz
HAMMOND, IN - Dr. Jack Schwartz, age 94 of Hammond, IN passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022. He is survived by his son, Karl Schwartz; daughter, Karen Schwartz-Brattain; and grandchildren, Megan, Aaron, Sarah, Elana and Ben. Dr. Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Dr. Magda Schwartz; and siblings, Leopold, Reisi, Hershy and Arthur.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at KISH FUNERAL HOME, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN with Rabbi Gidon Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Hammond, IN. Visitation will be on Friday, at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Service.
Dr. Jack was an obstetrician-gynecologist who delivered over 20,000 babies in "The Region". He was partners in both Life and Medicine with his beloved wife Magda, an anesthesiologist. Dr. Jack was a Holocaust survivor, a wonderful physician, and a devoted family man. He always taught his family that "it feels better to give than to receive." Hello
I'm sorry, I just heard of Dr Jacks passing and didn't know that Dr Magda had passed also. Dr Jack delivered my son by c-section and Dr Magda was my anesthesiologist. They also took care of me in another surgery and I continued to see Dr Jack after my son was born. They were magnificent people! I loved them both! God sent me a great team when I needed them so much!
I send my sincere condolences. I have wonderful memories of them both

Dear Karen and Karl,
I send my condolences to both of you. Your father was such a compassionate and amazing man. He made such an impact on so many lives including mine. As a former next door neighbor on Forest Ave., I still remember him as such a kind individual and one who always offered good advice and inspiration. His legacy will live on forever. Drs Jack and Madga Schwartz were the best people, a team dedicated to their family ,the families of Northwest Indiana in their practice and St Margaret Hospital in Hammond. The patients loved them and the doctors respected them. When you saw Dr Jack, you received care from their entire family. They made physicians like me feel comfortable in a new hospital 30 years ago. They were one of a kind and helped made this a strong medical community .
