Sandra, Linda and Kevin Tang

He was Uncle Jack to many, but to our family, he was a husband, father and grandfather.
Dad and Mom were married for 43 years. He worked hard all his life, worked a lot of extra shifts in order to earn more money to provide for us. He appreciated every dollar, not wanting to spend frivolously. This allowed us the freedom to grow up in a safe, secure and loving environment and enabled us to find our way in the world. Every step of the way he was always supportive of us.
He was gentle but firm, a friendly, wonderful man. He watched us get married and start our own families. He played an active role in the grandchildren's upbringing.
Dad was the type of person that people went to when they needed help. Everybody knew he would always give up his time or share his wisdom but would hardly ever ask for anything in return. He touched many people.
After Dad retired from CNR in 1995, he and Mom went on many trips together, including China, Thailand, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Dad had a passion for cooking and was known for making great chow mein and braised duck with taro and potatoes. He loved watching hockey and horse racing, playing 6/49 or mahjong and collecting coins. He also loved to watch the Price is Right show and was fortunate to attend the taping of the show prior to his passing.
He was not one to show weakness. He was a fighter to the very end.
Dad, your passing has created a huge void which cannot be filled. We miss you so much. You have been a huge part of our lives. We saw or talked to you every day. We wish that we could see you one more time, or hug you and thank you for being such a great father and to say that we love you.
May you rest in peace knowing that you have left a legacy in this world and the world is a better place for having had you in it.

To Sandra, Linda, Kevin and family. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I will always remember being at your house "after school" and your dad was home and always greeted me with a huge smile. I will always cherish those memories.

Jack's passing without seeing him one last time gives me sorrow. I worked alongside Jack for 18 years enjoying his camaraderie and learning some of his skills. So long "Piggyback Jack".

It was of great sorrow to hear of Jack passing away, but it was also of great honor to have been with him and to see him smile with joy. Ahh, that wonderful smile of his. It was so infectious! He would make you smile every time. To hear his voice, his laugh. You would know it was him even though you can't see him! We were so happy to see him one last time before he left us. We will always remember "Uncle Jack" as a great friend, a gentle giant who was always there to help, to accommodate, and to cook such wonderful and generous amounts of food when we were there! He was really special to me when I was just a kid and met him for the very first time and he was dating Sue then. Wow! Such a PERFECT and handsome couple! I saw the glowing love between them and see their family grow... To see how proud he was to be a Gran-Dad. I will never forget that time! Now he has such a wonderful legacy, a big and wonderful family and lots of friends to remember him.
Uncle Jack, you shall live forever in our hearts and souls.
It's Farewell for now Uncle Jack. I'll really miss you!
